Dynasty Feud is a team based platform brawler for 2-4 players. There’s no real way to play solo, unfortunately, but it does support local play and online modes. I’ll be frank, at first glance this game seems like a real big bag of suck. But, in fact, it’s surprisingly good.

Imagine if Super Smash Brothers went back in time only so Mario could be impaled with the spear of a Viking. AMAZE-balls! Pikachu blasted in the face by a pirates cannon. YOU DON’T SAY! Link shot dead by cowboys. Well, alrighty then. Checkmate.

Dynasty Feud has a distinct twist that separates itself from other games in the genre. Every character can be killed with only one hit. But with up to 40 characters there’s a lot of variety in ways to get that one hit. And because of this, battles are often very tense and has a much stronger sense of strategy. I enjoyed this about the game the most.

Each player picks a dynasty that consists of 5 characters. If you die, a new character will spawn. Each with their own moves and fighting style. If all your characters die: you lose. The controls are very easy to pick up on, but mastering the characters can take practice.

There are a few flaws. Mainly being a lack of online players and some lag when you manage to interact with other players. But don’t let that scare you, because the game has a ton of potential. I hope to see more updates in the future.

Dynasty Feud is available on Steam and Ps4.
