Zombies, you can’t deny they’re awesome. But you also can’t deny that they’ve lost their charm over the years. So what do you do to freshen it up? Apparently a giant chicken that lays human-seeking bullet eggs that explode faces into skulls. At this point, it’s better than the Walking Dead.

I went to the Las Vegas Dread Central Presents screening for Zombiology: Have Fun Tonight, and I’ve gotta say, I had fun that night. It’s been a while since I’ve been that entertained by a zombie flick. It doesn’t take itself seriously, while also being totally serious. It’s hilarious yet sad: right when you feel a tear coming something ridiculous happens and you can’t help but laugh.

The story is kind of all over the place, and characters of all walks of life keep you company. Two life-long best friends at the beginning of their adult life, unsure of what the future holds, a hopeless idiot in love with the most bad ass babe ever, an old ex-con filled with regret, trying to atone for sins passed, zombies and last but not least the giant fucking chicken. But that’s what I liked about it. It wasn’t afraid to try new things. And when the main characters first encounter the zombie threat…well let’s just say it was one of the funniest introductions to the apocalypse I’ve ever seen. Ever.

This movie has got a lot going for it. Good acting, well-written dialogue, relate-able themes, and most importantly a good sense of humor. Future Zomedys, take note!

I don’t wanna spoil too much, I want you to see this movie. So I guess I gotta hook you in with some type of silly rating system. In the spirit of this ridiculous movie, I’m going to abandon more traditional scoring systems such as stars or numbers. I’m going to score this movie by using a method of my own conception. Glasses of milk. Keep in mind that there’s many different types of milk. And there’s different glass sizes.

I’m going to give this movie a large glass of chocolate milk. But someone else took a few sips so there’s a few gulps you’ve missed out on. Meaning, I really liked this movie and I’m ok with a little backwash. Huzzah!

Zombiology: Enjoy Yourself Tonight will be available on Blu-ray February 23rd.
