Yeah, I saw Fury Road in the theater multiple times. In 2D and 3D. I bought the game on XBOX (which is quite amazing, if I don’t say so myself).

I bought the movie on DVD when it first came out and watched it again and again. I even took inspiration from the soundtrack for some mashup fun (Wonka/Fight Club).

But when they announced the new “Black and Chrome” black and white version of the film and gave it an official release (with no new special features or extras) I was skeptical. I had, in fact, already seen the film more times than I have other favorite films. Plus I knew that they were simply going to add one blanket filter adjustment to the entire film (so confirmed by the end credits being delivered in the same black and white style, and certain scenes being too dark or too washed out).

BUT, Fury Road Black and Chrome really does do a number on you. It’s not the same film. It’s not any better, it’s not any worse, it’s just: grittier. More post-apocalyptic and desolate. Mood and facial expressions have more weight, as do the few lines that are delivered throughout the film.

If you’re a fan, you will be pleasantly surprised. Even if it was a simple filter lazily covering the film from beginning to end. George Miller is quoted as saying it is his favorite way to watch the film, while this might not be true for you, this version of the film is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
