I love short films. And this collection of horror shorts is better than you would expect. Of course, Kevin Smith directing one of the eight shorts was a smart move on the producer’s part as his name will no doubt bring attention to the anthology. I thought his stab at a horror short was lukewarm as the premise of cam-girls getting revenge on their boss did nothing for me, but the films on the whole were all very good.

The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 14, 2016, and is now enjoying video on demand and streaming service distribution.

The Mother’s Day and Father’s Day shorts were the cream of the crop as they revolved around a forced ritualistic pregnancy and a demonic father luring his daughter to a hellish existence together, but they’ll all give you some sort of scare!

The only time I jumped: when the slimy Easter-Rabbit-TMNT-Jesus came out of nowhere and caught the little girl.

The only time I cringed: when the Carrie-like outcast cuts into her bully after dominating her.

The only time I loved the practical effects: when that teacher gave birth to a reptile!

The only time I laughed: when Seth Green saw a naked mistress in his VR headset while his wife and kid stood mere two feet away from him.

The only time I hollered with joy: when Reggie gets what’s coming to him on New Year’s Eve.
