Like many of us coming out of the Great Recession, Weather McNabb found herself trying to survive and make ends meet. Putting a music career aside jumping from one job to the next. Still finding time to write, McNabb recorded her first single, an unreleased track, “Join Me” in 2012. Despite the brief stint in the studio, the North Boston singer songwriter took another hiatus to pursue a college degree.

But the studio came a calling again and Weather McNabb couldn’t resist this time around. Teaming up in 2016 with one of Boston’s finest, producer Peter Moore, the result is Cubicle Zombie. McNabb’s 5 track debut slowly builds into a bluesy story of dealing with the difficult realities that life presents. McNabb’s song writing is superb, as demonstrated in the stand out track Adapt, highlighting the theme of the harshness of reality “this isn’t what we expected.”

The Boston singer-songwriter’s lyrics and voice are superb. McNabb is an artist still finding her sound as Cubicle Zombie drifts from bluesy rock to alternative electronica. More time on stage and in the studio will surely help what is otherwise well-crafted debut. This is an artist to keep on your radar.
