Suicide Squad has gotten mixed reviews from critics, but a lot of people genuinely loved the movie. Kyle Vorbach is here to explain why Suicide Squad is actually a great step forward for the DCEU, and the superhero movie genre as a whole. He looks at the deeper points that the critics and disappointed viewers overlooked, such as the faithful depictions of Joker, Harley Quinn, Batman, Deadshot, Amanda Waller, Captain Boomerang (and the rest of the squad) and David Ayer’s distinctive visual choices. It’s not a perfect film by any means, but it deserves more credit than it’s getting. We can do better than dismissing this movie by complaining about “choppy editing,” right?
